The IBCPC Dragon Boat Festival is held every 3 to 4 years under the auspices of the International Breast Cancer Paddlers’ Commission. The festival is an international non-competitive participatory event for breast cancer paddler teams. For the first time since the establishment of IBCPC in 2010, the festival will take place in the southern hemisphere in New Zealand. Los Angeles County Dragon Boat Club - Team DPW will host the 2nd Annual Los Angeles County Dragon Boat Festival - Marina del Rey on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

Connie Flesuras and Kathy Skinner of Dragon Boat Training Inc. are back on the Central Coast for a 2-day paddling clinic, including a section on Sunday for Steersperson training. This is a free family fun day sponsored by the Morro Bay Maritime Museum (home of our retired dragon boat Joanna’s Joy). The day kicks off at 8:30 in the morning with a Rotary Duckie Derby; team SurviveOars will be on the dragon boat ‘wrangling’ the rubber ducks to keep them on the race course. We will have a fun display at the event throughout the day; stop by to say ‘hi’!
